After Hours Program

The After Hours Program extends access to the Library as a study space when the Library is closed (unstaffed), including weekends and holidays. It is a privilege extended to persons with an active student, faculty, or staff affiliation with Upstate, a valid Upstate ID, and a current After Hours registration.

Registering & Renewing After Hours Privileges

First time registrants must meet with a member of the Access Services team to complete the orientation to the library space and review emergency procedures for the Library. Team members are available for registering and renewing privileges in person during staffed hours.

Online renewal notifications are emailed annually in November and registrants may complete an electronic attestation through December to renew privileges for the upcoming calendar year. If a renewal is needed after the December online renewal period, it may be completed in person during staffed hours.

Entering the Library during closed hours

Use the Hospital main entrance and take the Orange Elevators to the 7th floor. Use your ID to activate the Proximity reader and cross the pedestrian bridge to the Weiskotten Hall ground floor. The Library main entrance is on the first floor.

Additional proximity reader access is needed at several points adjacent to the Library including Weiskotten Hall, the Weiskotten Addition, the Academic Building (NAB), and Setnor Hall.

If you need assistance with access when the Library is closed, please use the intercom at the basement entrance of the Weiskotten addition to contact University Police, or call 315-464-4000.
