New York State Library

The New York State Library (NYSL) provides direct access to over 20 million items, including Elsevier’s ScienceDirect journals. These collections are a valuable supplement to Upstate's licensed resources, expanding access to our licensed databases and journals in several relevant areas including:

  • Arts & humanities
  • Biological sciences
  • Grants
  • Health & medicine
  • Psychology

All Upstate personnel and graduate students who receive a NY State paycheck may obtain a NYSL card for use of those resources and to search that Library'’'s e-journals by PMID/DOI or by citation.

Those ineligible for a NYSL card may obtain journal articles through Interlibrary Loan.

For assistance using the New York State Library card or the Health Sciences Library local collection of e-journals and databases, contact a reference librarian at 315-464-7091 or library@upstate.edu.
