On My Own Time Art Exhibit

On My Own Time is on display now through May 26th in the Scholars Den on the 2nd floor of the Health Sciences Library. This year’s show features works from 13 Upstate employee and retiree artists in a variety of mediums.

On My Own Time was initiated in 1974 by CNY Arts (then the Cultural Resources Council) in cooperation with the Everson Museum of Art to help local businesses identify, celebrate, and promote creativity among their employees.

Over the years, this program has exhibited the works of thousands of Central New York workers, who are amateur artists on their own time, creating countless rewards for the employees and their sponsoring companies.

On My Own Time‘s popularity and success has spread across the country, to cities where it has been replicated, name and all. On My Own Time is a program that makes artistic talents that might otherwise go unnoticed visible. It recognizes a most precious gift – creativity.
