New tool to help evaluate journal quality and impact
The library has recently acquired a new database that can help researchers identify high-quality, well-regarded journals in their field: Journalytics Medicine & Predatory Reports, provided via Cabells.
With Journalytics Medicine, you can search over 7,000 verified medical journals by title, ISSN, or medical discipline. The platform's filters include topics, open access status, acceptance rate, discipline score, scite index, and altmetric reporting.
The subscription also covers the Predatory Reports section of the database, which currently includes about 17,000 journals that have been flagged for a range of issues such as peer review status, publication practices, fees, access/copyright, or website quality concerns. It provides an overall score as well as a breakdown of the severity of each issue.
