Upstate achieves top nursing honor

Upstate University Hospital has achieved Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)-it is the highest and the most prestigious distinction a healthcare organization can receive for nursing excellence and patient care, and with less than 10 percent of U.S. hospitals designated to earn the Magnet designation, the honor represents the Gold Standard for a nursing practice and excellence.

We want to extend a special shout out and congratulations to our very own magnet librarian, Abigail Smith, who worked closely with our nursing colleagues to achieve this prestigious designation. Way to go, Abby!
