Welcome Elise!

Elise DeAndrea is the newest member of our library staff that joined us in late October as the Archivist and Rare Books Librarian. Elise has a master’s degree in library and information science with a concentration in archives management from Simmons University in Boston.

Previously, she was a project archivist for the Adirondack Experience (formerly museum) in Blue Mountain Lake, NY. While there she worked on several grant projects to promote further access to the museum’s collections in both their curatorial and library departments.

Elise is excited to be working on new projects for the archives here which will include creating greater access to the collections through cataloging, processing, and promoting the materials, while also learning more about the historic objects and rare books that make up the special collections. She is also looking forward to assisting researchers who are interested in the collections and gaining a broader understanding of the institutional history at Upstate.
