Clinical Access Issues with OpenAthens

The Library recommends that Chrome or Firefox be used to access all Library electronic resources, due to general compatibility issues with Internet Explorer (IE) and a specific problem at Upstate with IE and disabled cookies. Cookies are required to log into Library resources through OpenAthens.

It is especially important to be aware of this in clinical areas where links within the Epic Hyperspace launch in IE by default.

We are working with IMT on solutions to the problem with cookies, and in the meantime making Chrome easier to get to from WoWs and thin clients in the hospitals. For now, the Library icon in the ZENWorks window will open the Library homepage in Chrome.
