Award winning team at Upstate Health Sciences Library

20181218-library-awards.jpgThe team at the Upstate Health Sciences Library is not just excellent, they are award winning. On October 25th the CLRC Academic Library of the Year award was presented to Cristina A. Pope, Library Director.

Upon accepting the award from CLRC Executive Director Marc Wildman, Ms. Pope had the following to say to the Upstate Community, “Our team works hard to listen to your needs and respond with exemplary service be it After Hours, Systematic Reviews, licenses for 2,000 journals & 84 databases, document delivery, or our lactation room, meditation room, therapy dogs, complimentary hygiene products and coffee ... the HSL team is here to here to promote your success. We appreciate that our customers are also our biggest fans!”

These awards are open to all libraries, archives, museums and their staff in Onondaga, Oneida, Herkimer and Madison counties. For more information about the Library Awards nomination process, visit https://clrc.org/awards/.

Nominations for the awards are solicited each year from library patrons and staff. Winners are selected by a panel of judges who do not work or live within the four counties of the CLRC service area.

One of the nominations stated,

“As a student, this library has been my second home during medical school. The library staff are always attentive to the needs of students and it has made my learning experience great.”

Exceptional among the library team is Librarian Abigail Smith who was also recognized with the CLRC Academic Library Staff All-Star of the Year award. Ms. Smith received nominations from the Nurses of Upstate who had the following to say, “Abby removes barriers for bedside nursing staff to access evidence based resources. This enables them to improve their practice, and be engaged in their profession.”

Congratulations to the Upstate Health Sciences Library team!
