Library Liaisons

What is a library liaison?

A library liaison is a librarian assigned to your department as your direct line to customized library services.

What can a library liaison do for my department?

Library liaisons support the research, academic and clinical activities of Upstate departments by:

  • Arranging orientation and instruction at your location or in the Library
  • Providing individual of group consults on complex research questions
  • Creating department or subject specific guides to Library and online resources
  • Keeping you informed on new Library resources and Library activities of interest to you
  • Facilitating access to other Library services including collection development and document delivery
  • Working with faculty to embed Library instruction into curriculum (sample topics: evidence based practice, database searching, RefWorks)
