Burn Injury Reentry Program

This program is for children who have experienced burn injury. The purpose is to help children ease the transition from hospitalization to back to school. A nurse from the Clark Burn Center travels to the child's school, usually on the first day back, to do a brief teaching session for the students, any involved faculty, and the school nurse. The program centers around burn prevention, a brief description of the child's hospitalization, and what can be expected of the child during this rehabilitation phase of the injury. It is offered to children in grades kindergarten through grade 12 who have been hospitalized at Upstate Medical University Hospital for a burn injury.

This is a group that is interested in bringing awareness to transplantation in general. Includes heart, lung, liver and kidney recipients and their families. Living donors are also welcome to attend. They do many activities throughout the year, to include marching in the Oz and St Partick's Day parades. Open to anyone interested in transplantation.
