Sickle Cell Anemia
Sickle cell anemia is inherited or passed on from parents. It is very painful because red blood cells, which carry oxygen, are shaped differently. They get stuck in a person's blood vessels and prevent oxygen from going to other parts of the body. The blood cell is shaped like a sickle, which gives the disease its name.Resources: Viewable Now
