Policies and Instructions for Faculty
In order to meet the information needs of your students, individual professors must fill out a Course Reserve Request form for books, journals and audiovisual materials.
Submitting Reserve Lists
Printed reserve forms are available at the Circulation Desk (ext. 47087) on the first floor of the Health Sciences Library. You may also email email@example.com, or use the online Course Reserve Request Form.
For Media Reserves, contact Christine Kucharski, Media Librarian, 464-7191 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Procedures and Deadlines
Please fill out the necessary forms and return them to the Library at least two weeks prior to the beginning of the course (or before use is anticipated for a particular item) so that materials which are in circulation can be retrieved and processed for reserve use. Requests for materials not presently owned should be submitted at least eight weeks in advance in order to allow for purchase order considerations.
Reserve requests are processed in the order in which they are received. Lists received after the deadline will be processed as soon as possible.
In addition, we are attempting to place all the required textbooks on reserve. We would appreciate if you could inform us of the materials by filling out the form marking it "Required Texts".
Personally owned material will be accepted, but should be submitted with appropriate information three days before it is assigned for class use.
Journals will not be placed on reserve, and photocopies of individual articles for reserve use will be the financial responsibility of the requester. The Library will accept only one photocopy of any copyrighted material as stipulated by the Copyright Law. Multiple copies will be accepted only if accompanied by a copy of written permission from the copyright holder.
Thank you for your cooperation.
