Library Liaisons
What is a library liaison?
A library liaison is a librarian assigned to your department as your direct line to customized library services. What can a library liaison do for my department?
Library liaisons support the research, academic and clinical activities of Upstate departments by:- Arranging orientation and instruction at your location or in the Library
- Providing individual of group consults on complex research questions
- Creating department or subject specific guides to Library and online resources
- Keeping you informed on new Library resources and Library activities of interest to you
- Facilitating access to other Library services including collection development and document delivery
- Working with faculty to embed Library instruction into curriculum (sample topics: evidence based practice, database searching, RefWorks)
Are there other ways a liaison could be helpful? Let us know at library@upstate.edu.
Who should I contact if I am interested in a liaison for my department?
