Computer areas in the Library


John Bernard Henry, M.D. Computer Learning Center
Located on the second floor of the library, this center is only available to Upstate students, staff, and faculty. The center includes:

Wireless Access


Available everywhere in the library to Upstate students, staff, and faculty. 

Printing


All library users have access to printing, and will be charged per page.

 

Double Sided printing

Double sided printing is available in the Library 2nd floor computer lab only.

Black& White two sided printing 224

  1. With document on screen, click File/Print

  2. Select the printer B&W HP 4250

  3. Click Properties

  4. Select Two-Sided (Duplex) Printing

  5. Click OK


Color

  1. With document on screen, click File/Print

  2. Select the printer Color-Xerox 7000

  3. Click Properties

  4. Select Layout tab

  5. In Print on Both Sides box, choose orientation

  6. Click OK


Photocopying



Scanning to USB on the Copy Machines



  1. Insert your Debitek card into the Debitek reader attached to the copier

  2. Insert your USB drive into the USB slot on the left hand side of the display screen

  3. Press the Mail Box USB button on the top left side of the touch screen

  4. Press Memory Media on the right hand side of the touch screen

  5. Select your USB drive (it should be labeled A:) on the touch screen

  6. Press the Open button on the touch screen

  7. Press the Scan button on the touch screen

  8. Configure your scanning settings

    • Auto-Color Select drop down to select the color mode

      • Auto-Color Select (Gray Scale)

      • Auto-Color Select (Black and White)

      • Full Color

      • Gray Scale

      • Black and White



    • Res: 200 x 200 dpi drop down to select the resolution

      • 100 x 100 dpi

      • 150 x 150 dpi

      • 200 x 150 dpi

      • 200 x 200 dpi

      • 200 x 400 dpi

      • 300 x 300 dpi

      • 400 x 400 dpi

      • 600 x 600 dpi



    • File Format button to select the file format

      • PDF (Color, Gray Scale, Black and White)

      • JPEG (Color, Gray Scale)

      • TIFF (Black and White)



    • Document Name



  9. Divide Into Pages will create a new document per page. DO NOT USE if you want multiple pages within one file

  10. Press the OK button on the touch screen

  11. Press the Start button on the button panel to begin scanning (do this for each page you will scan)

  12. Press the Done button on the touch screen when finished

  13. Wait for the copier to finish saving the document to your USB drive

  14. Press the Remove USB button on the touch screen


Printing from USB on the Copy Machines



  1. Insert your Debitek card into the Debitek reader attached to the copier

  2. Insert your USB drive into the USB slot on the left hand side of the display screen

  4. Press Memory Media on the right hand side of the touch screen

  6. Press the Open button on the touch screen

  7. Select the file you would like to print

  8. Press the Print button on the touch screen

  9. Configure your print job

    1. Press the Special Features button on the touch screen for advanced options

    2. Press the 2-Sided Printing button on the touch screen to configure 2-sided printing



  10. Press the Done button on the touch screen when you are finished configuring

  11. Press the Start Print button on the touch screen

  12. Wait for your print job to complete

  13. Press the Remove USB button on the touch screen
