Donations
Donations of Books and Materials to the LibraryThe Health Sciences Library accepts and appreciates the donation of materials that support the educational and research interests of Upstate Medical University. Upon receipt, all materials become the property of the library to be placed in the collection or disposed of at our discretion. The majority of the books not selected for the use by the library are given away to Upstate students.
Please contact us at 464-8141 before making journal donations. While we may accept a limited number of journals to fill in gaps in the collection we do not have much room to spare for additional volumes.
Delivery is generally the donor's responsibility. Donations may be dropped off at the Library Services Desk whenever the library is open. Larger donations (i.e., too heavy to carry) may be dropped off at the library's loading dock; it is best to make prior arrangements so that we know when to expect you.
If a thank you letter is needed, please complete this form to be included with the donated items. Library personnel are unable to provide appraisals for tax reporting purposes. It is the donor's responsibility to obtain this information prior to the donation.
